Photos from my (I mean Savannah's) tramatic day

I didn't try to get her to smile or anything. She was just happy. Glad all the people were coming to see her. She even got to color "on da bed, mom?!?!" "Not on MY bed ata my house. Dust on da gocker bed." (just on the doctor's bed)

I don't care what she says. She IS one tough cookie.

Smarts

Parker: "Mom, everyone in my class had to do a paper today. But, I didn't have to do the paper cuz I already knew it all and I am so smart. So, I got to do a paper where you have to read and match the words. I even already knew most of the matches."

Hmmmm...what do ya say to that???

Cookies or Not Cookies

So, we spent the day in the hospital. Savannah went out to play with the boys who were playing baseball... (I know I don't really need to write anymore to finish out that story but I will). Brennon was pitching to Parker who took a giant swing and Savannah was behind him. I heard it hit all the way in the house. The I heard the screaming and found the blood gushing.

I tried to just go to the urgent care. But, they sent me away. They said that plastics needed to do the stitching and they were afriad that she had a fracture in her skull. However, she did so great sitting on that table. She let the doctors look and she let the nurses clean - all without crying.

After 5 hours in the hospital and 15 stitches done by the plastic surgeon we are back home and she is doing as good as can be expected. The doctor said that there was probably a small orbital fracture but it will heal on its own. They did sedate her before doing the stitches (I had the choice of that or general anesthesia). That was horrible to watch. It was all I could do to not bawl my eyes out watching my baby on that table with her eyes rolling in the back of her head.

Long story short. Here is the humorous part of the story. (I know...pretty good that there was anything humorous, right?) Travis dropped the boys off at the neighbors and came up to the hospital once we found out it was going to be more serious than just a few stitches. We were waiting on the plastic surgeon. Travis got in the room and told Savannah that she was a tough cookie. Savannah became very distraught and said, "I NOT COOKIE!! I JUST TOUGH!"

(I will post pictures tomorrow. I am going to feed my baby and go to bed. I have a major stress headache...)

more pics

This was the kids first visit to see the new baby.  They were all very excited to hold him.

Tate in his car seat ready to go home.  I however, was not ready to go home.  I would have stayed in the hospital for another week if they would have let me.

Our first family photo with 6.

"Whobody" and animal crackers

When I was out in MN in December visiting my friend Suzie her little girl, Ella, said my most favorite new word in the whole wide world.  "Who-body".  It totally made me laugh and it completely made sense.  It should be a real word.

So, the other day I was out on the back patio with Savannah and she took her crocs off.

Me:  "Savannah, you need to get your shoes.  You don't want to leave them outside or somebody will take them."

S:  "Who-body takea my croc?"

M: "The animals will eat your crocs."

S: "I not want animal crackers eata my crocs!"
